I vividly recall becoming acutely aware of who John Ford was and the extent of his talent when I saw “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,” with John Wayne and James Stewart. My husband was shocked when he learned I had never seen it. While I was never a big fan of John Wayne, this movie really touched me. Talk about a movie with heart. And, of course, most of John Ford’s movies are extraordinary and meaningful.
